These photos and report just in from Pete Safe of Horseshoe Bay. Pete says the winds were forecast for 35 knots but with the 40% variance that the weather bureau allows it was risky to leave vessels on the hook. Sure enough, it maxed at 90 kms or almost 50 knots last night. A problem some boaties have in the area is a shortage of safe haven as marina berths are undersupplied in Townsville nearby.

Located in Hervey bay, the wind outside as I write is picking up. Offices of TCP are about 300 metres from the bay.

Notice the very well placed danger marker!
