This croc killing was confirmed though the size is in dispute (others claimed this to be 5.5 metres) and the author and reliability of the text below are unknown.... but it sounds about right!  This was taken in Borroloola. The story goes is that there was a huge croc in one of the rivers close to town that the kids were playing with. When I say playing I mean teasing – they would dangle themselves off a rope hung above the river like they were bait and they were also in the habit of throwing stray camp dogs in the river tied to a rope and hauling them in like they were fishing, I think they were also feeding the croc with dogs. They had to kill the croc cause sooner or later it would have got the kids.
